The cars the event date prior to 1934 and are mostly restored at home by the racers themselves. The thrill of competition, keeps racers coming back year after year.

Hosted by the East Tennessee Model A Restorers Club, participants compete in a solo timed race to see who can most quickly get their Model A and Model T cars to the top of the hill on Bill Garland Road. The straight track is one-tenth of a mile, a trip that the vintage cars, despite their age, make in a matter of seconds.
